About Me

Welcome! I am a wife as well as a mother of a 2 1/2 year old boy and soon-to-be mother of a baby girl! We live in upstate New York. As my day job, I work as a Registered Nurse in the Cath and Electrophysiology Lab, but my true passion is health and wellness!

Some Cath Lab fun!

My love for health started when I was in high school. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in 2000, and I helped care for him during his illness. During this time, I joined the ambulance squad. It was around then I decided I wanted to get into healthcare. I became a nurse in 2010, and since then have worked in a few different specialty areas, including a medical surgical unit, an intensive care unit, and now, a cardiology procedure unit. I was introduced to Young Living essential oils in 2015 by my coworker, when working in the ICU. Since then, my vision of health has altered. There is a much bigger world out there of holistic medicine that we just don't see in society and traditional healthcare! Don't get me wrong, I work in the Cath Lab so I see first hand that holistic medicine cannot cure everything, especially when it comes to medical emergencies! I'm talking more about the everyday things that come up.

Before I was introduced to the amazing world of essential oils, I adapted into the healthy and organic food lifestyle. My mom was convinced that my dad developed cancer from all the pesticides and preservatives that is found on and in food, so we made the switch (who knows if that is really true - I don't think we'll ever know what REALLY caused my dad's cancer). I brought this healthy mindset with me to college, and over the years it has evolved from just organic milk and eggs to all my whole groceries. Now, I even try to grow my own produce!

Here is my little garden from this year - there's garlic, cherry
and roma tomatoes, bell and jalapeƱo peppers, thyme, and basil.

Right around the time I was introduced to Young Living essential oils, I decided to start switching my household products to more natural and nontoxic products. I must admit, even though this started more than 3 years ago, I still have a Swiffer mop that I use. BUT that is the next thing that I am eliminating from my house!

When I started using and realizing all the amazing effects of essential oils, I also started making my own products. My son was a baby at that point and we were cloth diapering, so I made a diaper spray for him. I also made baby balm for him. For my husband and myself, among other things, I started making lip balm, body butter, hand lotion, and body wash.

I'd love to share all these product recipes with you in this blog, along with the health benefits I have seen since using essential oils!

  1. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but other than that, this is fantastic blog. An excellent read. I will certainly be back. aol.com mail login
