Focus and Memory Blend


School time is here so I figured this post would be appropriate for those that are in school.

Another "pastime" of mine is going to school. I am working towards a Nurse Practitioner degree, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2020. I decided to take time off from school with my baby being due any day now, so I've postponed my graduation date by another year. Anyways, as I was taking Pathophysiology class a couple semesters ago, I looked up some essential oils to help me focus as I was studying for my exams and writing my papers. I found that this blend worked really well for me, as both a diffuser blend, for when I studied, and a roller ball blend, to apply on my temples when taking exams.

I found this chart on Pinterest (I'm sure its from a book but I can't seem to find a proper reference for this page. If you know where it came from, I would LOVE to know!) I referenced this chart and created my own blend, which is what you see below! If this blend doesn't work for you, you could twerk it any way you want, to make it work for you! 

Recently, my husband started a new job and asked for a focus blend he could diffuse in the office as he works. I made him this blend and he's come back to me a couple times already asking for a refill! So it must have some sort of therapeutic effect on him! I did use Cypress essential oil for his blend, instead of Black Pepper (I'm not sure why). The last bottle I made him, I used the Black Pepper essential oil in addition to the Cypress EO and he did notice the difference. He hasn't complained so I don't think it was a bad addition.

So what is in this Focus/Memory Blend?

* Rosemary Essential Oil
* Thyme Essential Oil
* Black Pepper Essential Oil
* Lemon Essential Oil
* Pine Essential Oil

Diffuser Recipe
* 5 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
* 2 drops Thyme Essential Oil
* 2 drops Black Pepper Essential Oil
* 4 drops Lemon Essential Oil
* 2 drops Pine Essential Oil

***if you want to substitute or add Cypress Essential Oil, I use 3 drops.


Roller Ball Recipe
* 5 mL roller bottle
* 10 drops Rosemary Essential Oil
* 4 drops Thyme Essential Oil
* 2 drops Black Pepper Essential Oil
* 8 drops Lemon Essential Oil
* 4 drops Pine Essential Oil

I get my Essential Oils from Young Living.
